Fut. Cont. vs. Fut. Perf. Cont.

Future Continuous

  • At 10 a.m., I will be working. — A las 10 de la mañana, estaré trabajando.
  • According to the forecast, it will be raining all day.
  • They won't be using the office tomorrow. — Ellos no estarán usando la oficina mañana.
  • Will you be staying at the hotel? — ¿Te alojarás en el hotel?

Son frecuentes las expresiones que indican un momento futuro, como at 10 a.m., this time tomorrow y all day tomorrow.

Future Perfect Continuous

Se forma con will + have been + verbo terminado en -ing.

En la forma negativa, se usa will not (won't) + have been + verbo terminado en -ing.

  • By the time you arrive, I will have been studying for three hours.
  • In July, I will have been living in Madrid for two years.
  • By noon, they will have been working for six hours.

Son frecuentes las expresiones for + período de tiempo, by + momento futuro, by the time y in + mes o año.

  • At 8 p.m., I will be exercising.
  • By 8 p.m., I will have been exercising for an hour.
